Mint Home Prep helps homeowners prepare, maintain and improve their homes through practical interior and exterior maintenance, carpentry, home preparation and personalized maintenance planning. We service Vancouver Island.
Do you only work with homes that are being sold?
No. While preparing homes for sale is a major part of what we do, we also work with existing homeowners and new homeowners who need maintenance, carpentry, exterior work or help getting their new home set up.
What areas do you service?
Mint Home Prep serves homeowners throughout the Cowichan Valley and surrounding areas on Vancouver Island. Contact us with your property location to confirm availability.
Do you provide estimates?
Yes. We review the information about your project and, when appropriate, arrange a visit to assess the work before providing an estimate.

What is the Personalized Home Maintenance Plan?
It’s a service where we visit your home, gather information about the property, systems and equipment, and create a maintenance schedule tailored specifically to your home.
Is the maintenance plan the same as a home inspection?
No. A Personalized Home Maintenance Plan is not a home inspection. Its purpose is to help homeowners understand and keep track of routine maintenance for their particular home.
I just bought a house. Can Mint help me get it set up?
Yes. Our New Home Setup service is designed to take care of the smaller jobs that often come with moving into a new home, such as lock changes, toilet seat replacement, filters, adjustments, hardware and small carpentry tasks.
What kind of carpentry work do you do?
We focus on smaller maintenance and finish carpentry projects, including cabinet adjustments, doors, trim, shelving, wood repairs, hardware and other practical carpentry tasks.
Do you do electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs?
We can help identify maintenance items that may need attention, but specialized work is referred to appropriately qualified professionals where required.
Do you remove junk?
Yes. Junk removal is available as part of applicable Mint packages and services. The amount of material we can remove depends on the project and load size.
Do I have to choose one of the packages?
No. If you’re not sure which option is right for you, simply select “I’m not sure” when requesting a quote. We’ll help determine the best approach.
Can I combine services?
Yes. Many homes require a combination of interior and exterior work. We’ll recommend the most practical approach based on your property and priorities.
Do you work with realtors?
Yes. Mint Home Prep can help prepare properties for listing, photography, showings and sale.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as possible is best, particularly when you’re working toward a listing or closing date. That said, we’ll always do our best to accommodate your timeline.
Do you provide recurring maintenance?
The Personalized Home Maintenance Plan is designed to help you understand what your home needs and when. Any ongoing maintenance or follow-up work can be discussed based on your individual needs.
